The Pillow Fortress Of Arrogance: Settling the Argument of 10,000 years war.
Just like to point out that the most powerful being in the galaxy is The Emperor, do not attempt to question it for I can re-enforce my statement with fact.
The Emperor was facing Horus on his flagship at the battle for Terra, at this point Horus was personally possessed by all 4 of the Chaos…

thehighkingofmontival asked: in one of the gaunt's ghosts books they describe a massed guard assault.
I’ve read all of the, up to The guns of tanith and I can only recall a few massed assaults, none of them bayonet charges.

Infantry assaults
Why do they always show the imperial guard launching massed human wave charges?!
I have read a lot of black library imperial guard fiction, the one stop spot for true insight into guard tactics, and there has never been mention (so far) of massed attacks. The guard aren’t chaos heretics, they have brains, heroes like chenkov are a fucking disgrace on the whole fucking universe. -

“Every position must be held to the last man: there must be no retirement. With our backs to the wall, and believing in the justice of our cause, each one of us must fight on to the end.”
